Every member participates in Power Hour, daily time set aside to complete school work and receive help from tutors. Teens can participate in our Workforce Development programs to learn how to write a resume, prepare for an interview, financial literacy, post high-school opportunities and even shadow professionals during the work day.

This program uses the early warning signals — attendance, behavior and course failure — to identify youth at risk of dropping out of school.
Workforce Development Programs
Junior Staff Developement assists Club members ages 13 to 18 in exploring a career in youth or human services, particularly Boys & Girls Club work. Participating in career development activities, discovering the importance of community service, building customer service skills and completing a Club apprenticeship.
The YES Academy is a 16-week program that provides the knowledge, skills, strategies, and attitudes necessary to have a positive foundation for success. Our youth will build social, emotional and cultural competencies so they can achieve academic success and prepare for the world of work.
Encourages members 13 to 18 to explore careers, make sound educational decisions and prepare for them for the work force. This includes, learning how to create a resume, apply for a job, proper interview techniques, search for college and more!
Promotes financial responsibility and independence among Club members ages 13 to 18. Participants learn how to manage a checking account, create a budget, save and invest, start small businesses and pay for college.
