Gloucester Renovations
Help Renovate the Gloucester Unit for the Next 20 Years!
For more than two decades, the Gloucester Unit of Boys & Girls Clubs of the Virginia Peninsula has been a second home to hundreds of kids in our community. Once an old department store, the building has stood as a space for laughter, teamwork, and learning since 2002.
After years of serving thousands of young people, our Gloucester Club needs more than a coat of paint; it needs real investment.

Meet our Gloucester Unit Youth of the Year
This event will provide an opportunity to meet and celebrate the Youth of the Year candidates from our Gloucester Club who recently competed for BGCVP’s overall Youth of the Year title, hear directly from Club youth, and learn more about the exciting initiatives and renovation efforts currently underway at the Gloucester Unit.
As BGCVP continues investing in the future of Gloucester youth, we are working to expand community engagement and build partnerships with individuals and organizations who care deeply about creating opportunities for young people in our community. We would love the opportunity to share more about the impact of our programs and the vision for the future of the Gloucester Club.
Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres will be provided, with presentations beginning at 6:15 PM featuring remarks from our Youth of the Year candidates and BGCVP President & CEO, Hal Smith.

Why This Matters
Every day the Gloucester Unit is buzzing—kids building teamwork on the basketball court, teens practicing in the batting cages, and friends lacing up skates to make lifelong memories on the rink.
But the facility is showing its age. Outdated flooring, worn equipment, aging lighting, and inefficient space don’t match the vibrant youth programming we offer today.
We have the vision and the kids. Now we need your help to bring this beloved Club back to life.
