Hampton, VA – Boys & Girls Clubs of the Virginia Peninsula (BGCVP) is proud to announce the grand opening of a Panda Cares Center of Hope at its Citizens Unit on Wednesday, June 25, 2025. The celebration will bring together youth, families, staff, and community partners to unveil the new space designed to inspire learning, creativity, and personal growth.
Made possible through the generosity of Panda Cares, the philanthropic arm of Panda Express, the Center of Hope will provide a safe and supportive environment where young people can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Equipped with updated technology, flexible learning stations, and enrichment resources, the center is built to foster academic success, healthy lifestyles, and character development.
“This partnership with Panda Cares allows us to further enhance the quality of programs we offer our members,” said Hal Smith, President & CEO of BGCVP. “The Center of Hope will be a place where our youth feel empowered, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential.”
The opening celebration on June 25th will feature a ribbon-cutting ceremony, guided tours of the newly renovated space, games, and food provided by Panda Express. Members of the community and media are invited to attend.
