Newport News, VA, August 20, 2024 — Boys & Girls Clubs of the Virginia Peninsula (BGCVP) is excited to announce its 28th Annual Dinner Auction, themed “Empower Up!” This highly anticipated event will take place on October 18, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM at the Newport News Marriott at City Center.
This year’s dinner auction promises an unforgettable evening of elegance, entertainment, and inspiration. Guests are invited to embrace their inner heroes and come dressed as their favorite superhero, whether inspired by comic books, movies, or real-life figures. From caped crusaders to silver screen icons or personal heroes, attendees’ costumes will contribute to the event’s empowering atmosphere.
The evening will feature a three-course buffet, music from a live DJ, dancing, and an open bar with specialty drinks. Guests will be welcomed with a red-carpet entrance, perfect for capturing memorable superhero-themed photos. Additional exciting experiences, like a 360-degree photo booth, will make the evening even more memorable.
The highlight of the evening will be a live auction, offering exclusive items such as luxury getaways, sports memorabilia, fine art, exquisite jewelry, and more. Each bid will directly support BGCVP’s mission to empower the leaders of tomorrow.

Proceeds from the event will support BGCVP’s after-school and summer programs, special initiatives, and other vital services that benefit youth and families across Virginia’s Peninsula. With sponsorship levels ranging from $1,000 to $10,000 and individual tickets available for $100, there are many ways for the community to participate and show their support.
