Boys & Girls Clubs of the Virginia Peninsula has been selected as a 2019 One City Marathon Charity Partner! This year’s race celebrates five years and will be on March 3.

“We feel a strong connection to Newport News because we started downtown on 28th Street in 1946 and have been serving kids ever since,” said Chief Development Officer Michele Benson. “We’re proud to represent the city and be a part of this initiative that unites all of Newport News.”

Runners can get involved by volunteering the day of the race or by joining the race team. As a charity partner, Boys & Girls Clubs of the Virginia Peninsula is offering a “Run for Free” program that allows runners to race for free if they meet a minimum fundraising requirement.
