Jakala Bellamy is an incredible young woman, who is dedicated to everything she does. She insists on being high spirited, and raising the morale of those around her.
From a young age, Jakala was forced to grow up quickly. An unexpected lay off of her mother's job pushed Jakala to assist her family by entering the workforce. She also began watching her younger sister, and stepped up to take on jobs around the house.
As a senior in high school, Jakala is involved in multiple different clubs, as well as participating in various amounts activities at her Boys and Girls Club Unit. These activities include Keystone, Torch club, Dance Team, and Cheer to name a few.
Jakala wants to help the youth around her by promoting good character and high moral standards. "Coming from a place where I see fights all the time and hear gun violence every night, I want to make my community's voice heard. I want to make sure that every youth in my community knows that it is alright to struggle and still come out on top."
Jakala plans on attending Virginia State University upon graduation. She would like to get a degree in mass communications with a minor in TV and radio. Her dream job would to become an actress.
